Who We Are

Ursula Mühlberger and Cristiano Giongo were two musicians with different experiences behind them when they met the painter Benedetto Fellin in 2013. Inspired by the mistical subjects and the Oriental landscapes of his works, they wrote two pieces for oud and violin and were invited to play them as the picture exhibition opening act. The pieces were welcomed and the magic alchemy which this music created gave them a good reason for keepin writing together.

The meeting with singer-percussionist Omar El Afrah, from Morocco,  was finally decisive to close the circle of this original group named…

…Oudarc

Oudarc is a new kind of musical conglomeration. Current social changes and resulting new needs are recognizable in its special way of making music. The goal is to design music as a creative, cosmopolitan meeting place for peaceful feelings.

With its music the trio looks into the appeal of the foreign and unknown. The musicians take you on a journey to distant horizons with their particular way of playing world music. Rhythm, melody, tone colour are drawn from the diversity of the musicians’ musical and cultural background and are the common base of the project.
In the performance the sound of oud, violin, percussions and vocals, supported by the use of a loop pedal in real time, melt together into a fascinating and original overall effect.
